What is a Writ of Certiorari?

Updated: Mar 13

A writ of certiorari asks the Alabama Supreme Court to review your case after the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals denies your appeal.

The Alabama Supreme Court can decide not to listen to your appeal further and deny a writ of certiorari, or they can grant the writ and hear the appeal all over again. This means your criminal appeals lawyer can submit further briefs to the Alabama Supreme Court and even have oral argument.

If you want a criminal appeals attorney who will fight for you and look for every possible way to win your appeal, call me today at 617-356-8217. While my office is located in Boston, I also handle Alabama criminal appeals. Let's get started on your defense today.
